Parents’ Alcohol Consumption and Child Neglect an Overlooked Problem

When parents drink, children get neglected, and so far not enough is being done to help them, says a report discussed in a BBC News article.

A report produced by two U.K. charities, Alcohol Concern and the Children’s Society, says that around 2.6 million children are living in a home where a parent’s alcohol consumption means they could face neglect, or living with what they call "hazardous" drinkers. Another 705,000 children are living in homes where a parent is addicted to alcohol.
